I want to perform

Origin Performance

Strength, conditioning and performance. The strand concerned with capacity rather than symptoms: what your body can actually do, measured properly, and built up from there.

Origin Performance

Getting out of pain is not the same as being ready. Origin Performance exists for the gap between the two, and for the people who want to know where they stand before anything goes wrong.

At its centre is VALD strength and asymmetry testing: objective measurement of strength, power, balance and movement quality, at a precision observation cannot reach. It shows side-to-side deficits and strength gaps that look fine to the eye, which matters most for return-to-sport decisions after an injury.

Around that sits progressive strength and conditioning work, using the full gym facilities at both clinics. Testing is repeated through the programme, so progress is measured against your own earlier numbers rather than assumed.

What Origin Performance covers

  • Objective VALD testing of strength, power, balance and movement quality
  • Side-to-side asymmetry measurement, the clearest marker of injury risk
  • Evidence-based return-to-sport decisions rather than decisions made on feel
  • Progressive strength and conditioning, with full gym facilities at both clinics
  • Repeat testing every six to eight weeks to track real change
  • Baseline testing while you are fit, so a future injury has something to compare against

Common
questions

Do I need to be an athlete to use Origin Performance?

No. It suits anyone who wants an objective picture of their physical capability, including people recovering from injury or surgery and those simply wanting a baseline. Athletes use it too, but the majority of testing is not elite sport.

How does VALD testing help my recovery?

It shows precisely how the injured side compares with your own uninjured side, which observation cannot do reliably. That makes progression decisions evidence-based, and it is why re-injury rates fall when return-to-sport is measured rather than guessed.

How often should testing be repeated?

Within a rehabilitation programme, every six to eight weeks is typical, as that is long enough for measurable change. For general performance monitoring, two or three times a year around your training blocks is usually more useful.
