Lumbar spine
Low Back Pain & Sciatica
Most low back pain and sciatica is non-specific and recovers well with physiotherapy, exercise, and education. Left to drift, though, an episode that should settle in weeks can become the recurrent, fear-driven pain that the World Health Organization now ranks as the single leading cause of disability worldwide. We provide NICE-aligned treatment for low back pain and sciatica at our Liverpool Street clinic in the City, without routine imaging, opioids, or unnecessary bed rest.

Cervical spine
Neck Pain
Most neck pain is mechanical, settles well with physiotherapy, and does not need a scan. Where it is driving headaches, or where desk hours keep provoking it, treatment that addresses both the symptoms and the load pattern behind them is what stops it becoming a monthly event.

Glenohumeral joint
Shoulder Pain
Rotator cuff problems and frozen shoulder account for most of the shoulder pain we treat, and both respond well to properly loaded rehabilitation. The difficulty is that they behave very differently, so getting the diagnosis right at the start changes the whole plan.

Tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joints
Knee Pain
From runner’s knee and patellofemoral pain through to ACL reconstruction rehabilitation, knee problems almost always come back to load and capacity. Rebuilding the strength around the joint is what resolves them, and it is the stage most people cut short.

Hip joint and acetabular labrum
Hip & Groin Pain
Hip and groin pain is one of the harder regions to diagnose, because the joint, the surrounding tendons, the lower back and the abdominal wall can all produce pain in a similar place. Getting the source right is most of the work.

Plantar fascia and its calcaneal insertion
Foot & Ankle Pain
Plantar heel pain and Achilles tendinopathy are the two most common foot and ankle problems we treat, and both are slow to resolve without the right loading. They are also both very treatable, provided the programme is progressive and you stick with it.

Common extensor and common flexor tendon origins at the elbow
Elbow, Wrist & Hand Pain
Tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and keyboard-related wrist pain are the presentations we see most in the City. All three are load problems rather than damage, and all three respond to graded strengthening once the aggravating load is understood.

Synovial joints: most commonly the weight-bearing knee and hip
Arthritis & Rheumatology
NICE-aligned physiotherapy for osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis affecting the knee, hip, hand, and spine. It is tempting to rest a painful joint, but inactivity tends to worsen both the pain and your wider health, and the muscle that protects the joint fades fast. We treat arthritis with therapeutic exercise, weight management support, and education to ease pain and restore function: self-referral, no GP letter needed, at our Liverpool Street clinic in the City.

The operated joint or limb and surrounding soft tissue: most often the knee
Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Structured rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery: knee and hip replacement, ACL reconstruction, shoulder repair, post-fracture, coordinated with your surgeon's protocol. Surgery addresses the structure, but the strength and movement only come back with the rehabilitation that follows; skip it, or start too late, and a good operation can still leave you stiff, weak, and short of the function you were promised. At our Liverpool Street clinic in the City we provide post-operative rehabilitation that rebuilds strength, movement, and function through phased, criteria-based progression.

Golf
Golf loads the lower back, lead hip and trail shoulder hard, and it exposes restrictions rather than creating them from nothing. Amanda is TPI-qualified as well as HCPC-registered, so treatment addresses the swing as well as the symptom.

Patellofemoral joint and quadriceps
Running
Almost every running injury we see is a training-load problem wearing the disguise of a body-part problem. Get the loading right and most of them resolve, which is usually better news than runners expect.
